White, somewhat translucent, A hard wax consisting of a mixture of solid straight-chain hydrocarbons ranging in melting point from 48 to 66 C.

The advantages of paraffin are its pliability, when the paraffin melts, it, like a liquid, is able to penetrate into the smallest holes and recesses, so it forms into the given shape and translates it into a solidified state.
